The following university degrees are recognised for initial registration as an architect in New Zealand.

  • University of Auckland — Master of Architecture (Professional), Master of Architecture (Professional) and Heritage Conservation, Master of Architecture (Professional) and Urban Design, Master of Architecture (Professional) and Urban Planning (Professional); Bachelor of Architecture (5 year - historic)
  • Unitec Auckland — Master of Architecture (Professional); Bachelor of Architecture (5 year - historic)
  • Victoria University of Wellington — Master of Architecture (Professional); Bachelor of Architecture (5 year - historic)
  • Auckland University of Technology — Master of Architecture (Professional)

Australia

Singapore

  • National University of Singapore — BArch, MArch

Hong Kong

  • University of Hong Kong — MArch
  • Chinese University of Hong Kong — MArch

Historic

  • AERB Special Certificate
  • NZRAB Eligibility or Equivalency Certificate

If you don't have a recognised qualification, you need to apply under Pathway 2.
